With samples raided from one of DOOM’s stacked ‘cheesy’ crates, ‘Lavender Buds’ is a beat with a plodding bassline, forever rising strings and a wistful vocal: ‘I just lie awake and think of pleasant nights we’ve spent/Under summer’s magic spell’. Reminds me a lot of long train journeys when I used to bump Metal Fingers’ Special Herbs and play games on my iPod.
